How to get the lost data

I have installed windows 7 but due to some problem my data has been encrypted so can anybody suggest me on how to get back my lost data.

sounds more like an NTFS security permissions error...

Are you sure that its encrypted? Why do you think this? Was it on a separate partition before? Did you format over it by accident?
