I'd really appreciate any comments/suggestions on the following build (my first attempt).
Are there any compatibility issues/bottlenecks/overkill/underkill?
I'll be using it for gaming, watching films and programming (java) mostly.
Never overclocked before but thought I'd give it a go this time.
£700-850 is my price range.

If the Sapphire is this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814102796 Then yes. If not, consider waiting a week. It's a brand new technology and Sapphire is switching to this new cooling on the 4870. Only been available here in the US for a few days, possibly hasn't arrived in the UK yet.
P182: I really dislike this case... have you actually had your hands on one? The front door is plastic. It's quite popular though. Lot's of folks like it. The door opens and folds over to the side.... if you like that feature, just don't get a door I also have a more technical and non-personal objection. The case is not as well cooled as many other more modern cases.
You'll get no objection from me on the core parts. P5Q-E is a good board. If I've saved you enough maybe you can afford to upgrade the CPU a bit.
