HELP - card advice needed

Hi Guys

I would like to play (relatively) simple computer games like ‘Thief deadly shadows or Hitman contracts’ but my computer just gives me a 0x0000008E error message on a blue screen when I try to play them. I currently have no graphics card so I’m guessing it is this that is the problem. Can anyone suggest a graphics card that will do the job? I’m very unlikely to play anything other than those games so I don’t need to be future proof.
