hi

i bought an Asus Terminator barebones system on ebay complete with cpu, mem and hdd

the motherboard is an Asus A7VC with sdram, with a sempron 2400 (1667mhz) fitted as just had a look when i tried to upgrade the chip

the bios reads it as an Athlon XP1500 (1333mhz) but the sempron runs on a 166 bus, so i thought if i can change the settings in the bios and overclock it to 167mhz, the pc wouldnt start and just beeps at me

how can i get it to read the sempron correctly, and whats the max XP chip can i use?

I don't know about the GF8200A but the A780GM-A CPU support list has been revised to include the 965BE, 955BE and 940BE (all 125W CPUs). I'd check with the GF8200A CPU support list on the ECS web site.
