I am using a Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme-1366 RT in my setup and at stock clock my i7 core temps are at around 63 degrees C at full load 2.6 ghz. I have mounted the heatsink to the processor like 5 times appling grease differantly everytime. Do i need to lap my heatsink? Also while the temperature of the cpu cores was ariound 63 C the heaksink was cold and the motherboard sensor under the processor was around 30 C

What monitoring program are u using to monitor the temps? I would use Core temp or Real temp (Report back with these programs). Also go into your bios and there should be reading of temps for your cpu. What motherboard do you have?. I believe you got i920.

What do u mean motherboard sensor under the processor?

i have the fan that came with it, its a relitivly good fan, i just dont feel like the heatsink is not making good contact with the cpu. The core temperatures a heatsink tempertures should raise accordingly but the tempertures of all the cores rise to 60 C while the heatsink stays nice and cool
