Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.0GHz 12MB L2 Cache LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor

atm the nebalhem is too pricey for me cause of motherboard and memory prices so only if really was worth it for the future i would go for it.

u can add another processor if u think would be better.

PD: if i get to 30 fps in any game im happy, but THATS MY MINIMUM!!! :x

I'd go with the i7 if it's within your budget. Sure, it's more expensive, but it overclocks like crazy, and it is stunningly fast.

If you want it to last that long then you need i7.
Its the only proc thats shifted to DDR3, which will most likely be at the end of its life in 2-3 years. AMD rigs will be outdated relatively soon when AM3 socket mobo's are released.

Its pricey because its the best...you get what you pay for :D

The pirce difference between a Core 2 and i7 setup is only 200-300, whats that over the life of your PC? Not alot.

I plan to use my i7 setup for the next three years.

<-------run your 920 at 4ghz! or die!

The Q9650 will be plenty of CPU, but i7 would be better. If you end up sacrificing your GPU for i7 your going to get less performance in gaming anyway. As for editing, the difference is only so large and you have to decide if it is worth it. I'm not sure i7 is really the best choice for you.

but the i7 with gaming is really not worth the money becuase you won't get a lot of exra FPS becuase of i7 is a new chip or anything it simply is not =to price/performance vers the Core 2 Quads or the Phenom 2.
