Windows 7 CD-DVD rom disapierd

Hello,
I've installed Imagebox device - it's needed up-date for Win-7.
After installation My DVD-RAM stopped working. In device manager there is a message:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". Can not run CD's DVD's -nothing. Tried to download Paretologic drivers-it's $30. Is there a free way to fix this problem.
By the way: for 6 months of having F..Windows-7 there was no one installation of anything without problems. Sometimes up to 3 pages of instructions for updates - not for regular user.

Which is ur DVD RAM?I had heared that some dvd-roms disappearing after win7 installation!

MATASHITA UJ890AS. I've fixed it already, but paid $30 to Driver Whiz - not big help though - need to go to advance search with error (39) which has been on my yellow exclamation warning sign. Have a 1 page instructions - can scan and E-mail.
