My Dell Internal 13 in 1 card reader stopped working and now my Dell xps 410 computer won’t boot properly. It stops at Windows Error Recovery page and I must tell it to start Windows normally.

Will just disconnecting the card reader from the internal connection resolve this problems or do I need to actually remove the card reader from the computer?

Try disconnecting the card reader first. Then after you boot into windows, look for any marks next to drivers in the device manager of the control panel under "system". Uninstall those devices, reboot, and let windows reinstall them.
