DVD burner

Ok i need some help, will a DVD burner play audio files? and will it read/load an OS. If i was installing an OS and all i had was a dvd burner to do it with, not a cd-rom, would it read it? or is the dvd burner only for burning dvds?


Much thanks to anyone who can help me... I need to know cause i have a budget and if i can get a dvd burner that can do the OS installing il get that, if it doesnt then i need a cd-rom drive... i cant get both =(

ALL DVD burners will read a CD, either audio, OS, ISO, data, whatever. You won't need a separate CD drive.
