Are all the AMD-drones still blaming ATI for the loses?

I simply don't see how AMD can survive. They already got a bailout from the middle-east. They are simply going to implode this year. I call a third quarter implosion.

There, I said it, AMD BK 3Q2009.

I hope that I'm wrong.

Yeah All Intel owners buy AMD now and youll thank us in the future for cheaper prices... you dont even have to stick it in a machine - use it to comb a hamster or something..

What's ironic is that, ATI has actually been AMD's flotation device in 2008. While AMD's other products have low ASP, the HD4800 series has been a big seller.

TBH I don't think anyone would blame ATI for AMD's current situation.

If they didn't buy ATI, they would have their crippling debt problem. Without that cash drain, they might have had enough R&D money to push out a decent processor.

Very interesting......

With global economy going into recession everywhere AMD still manages to list new AM3 cpu so cheap!!

I must say this is impressive! I can't describe my happiness....Intel has much work to do. Intel just cannot compete.

AMD are coming back with a Bang!! .....I'm also very impressed. Looks like ATI was worthwhile after all!....Lets all celebrate AMD's recent achievements!

AMD innovation once again...This must be becoming embarrassing for Intel...

Uh... You're not comparing similar products. You need to compare products with about the same level of performance.

Hes trying to compare a cesna to a f15 Eagle

Reply to Hellboy

The Cessna hews heaps less juice and is much more flightworthy.

The F15 Eagle can only get off the ground after burning more fuel than all the Aussie BBQ's on Australia day, can't glide, and without the electronics can't shoot, see, or even land.

I'll take the family up in the Cessna thanks.

More fun and I'm bound to survive.

The F15 is like gaming on a post 3Ghz Pentium 4 ... a hot and stuttery experience as it chokes trying to handle the thermals.

Wanna pick a better comparison Chucky??

Getting back to the earnings report ...

That seems a huge slump in CPU sales.

Let's hope netbooks save the day... Rudd's free netbook policy will help...

Not surprised. Even Intel is making cuts. Of course AMD didn't help themselves by having the Phenom II delayed. Downsizing usually doesn't yield the results you want it to. Even if you save on pay day you know that you are loosing productivity, especially when internal politics cause the productive workers to go rather than the less productive ones. At least with the Phenom II they are making some head way in the CPU area, but considering they already had to cut their margins thanks to Intel's Price cuts, they really need to ratchet up the speed and start releasing faster models if they want to stay competitive. Waiting till the third quarter before releasing an AM3 CPU faster than 3.0GHz, which is their original plan, won't cut it.
