Need new RAM

I have a Gateway E-4000 with two 512 of ra. It looks like the ram is pc2100 what ever that means? DDR SRRAM DIMMs. My question is what kind of ram do I need to buy to replace what I have? The ram I have is no good. Wiull any DDR 164 pin work? thanks

DDR is 184 pins, not 164.
You may have to buy PC2700(DDR-333) or PC3200(DDR-400) as PC2100(DDR-266) will be hard to come by these days.
