I am trying to install Sims 2 for my daughter (we used the original
Sims and Sims Unleashed, Vacation and Making Magic with no problems),
but I keep getting a message saying "The Sims 2 will install an
additional 324 MB of data on drive C:. Please ensure there is enough
free space, then click OK to proceed." When I click ok nothing happens,
and I have tried this at least a dozen times.
We have over 2.8 GB of free space on our C drive, I've defragmented the
drive, and I've even deleted/uninstalled all other versions of the
Sims. Nothing seems to work, and this is quite frustrating to say the
least.
I have a 3 year old Sony Vaio, model PCV-RX650.
I've sent a message to EA Games technical support, but judging by other
comments I've seen from users, I don't expect much help from them.
Therefore, I'd appreciate any advice.

This is just a thought, if you're using XP, click on Start\My Documents, and
see if there's a folder called "EA Games" if so look in it, if there's a
folder called The Sims2 there, it's already installed it, the "main" files
are installed into C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims2.

Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.

The message is just a piece of information.
The 324 MB are used in a Documents folder for neighbourhoods etc. That
part is additional to the installation in the Program Files folder.

Since there is enough free space on your computer, the game is installed
as expected ready for use. :-)
