ATI 3450, 3650 or 4850 - no gaming

Does the video card really matter if i'm not going to do any gaming? I'm going to order a Dell with the i7 processor to go with a 24" ultrasharp for general use and a lot of photoshop and video editing. Will the 4850 give me better display qualities (color, sharpness, etc) or would it mostly be a waste of money? Which of the above cards would you order for this?

None. I'd probably go with either the HD 4670 or HD 4650. If it has to be one of the above, then the 3650.

Waste of money and heat in your case. Get something like the guy above me suggests.

^+1 on the 4650/4670 both are good cards for your needs and will do fine for video editing even with higher resolutions on the 24"

+2 get the later series, just not something so powerful it will be a waste.

HD 3450 is standard, HD 3650(+$50) and HD 4850(+$200) are optional. Should I just order the 3450 and replace it with an HD 4650/4670? Would that give me a noticeable improvement over the 3650?

Since it's a pre-configure option, go with the HD3650. You won't notice any difference between the HD3650 and the HD4650/4670 with what you're working on.
