Can i use an E4300's stock cooler on a Q9550?

the thread speaks for itself :)

stock cooler of the Q9550 was making my Asus rampage extreme bend, now using a thermaltake Spin-Q. Its terrible in cooling but beautiful to look at.

can i use the stock HSF ? its lower in profile and thicker than the new stock HSF.

cant place an order until end of april for the CM Hyper 212+ :heink:

will only overclock when the CM comes through

If your chassis has adequate ventilation I would think yes. I obviously can't be sure, but without overclocking the q9xxx series don't get worryingly hot under normal usage. You may risk the fan making more noise though, as it'll have to spin up faster with less alu fin area.
