Looks good, sounds like you have been reading the forums here. The only thing I see is you could probably find the vid card a little cheaper with a different brand or somewhere else. Newegg or search around slickdeals.
The monitor looks a little expensive. Again, check slick deals and newegg.
There's a combo at newegg for GA-EP45-UD3R and E8500. Total $294 and you get a free 2GB flash drive too. That saves you $16 and gets you the flash drive. You lose the second PCI-E x16 slot but you said no Crossfire. You still get 8 SATA ports and get 3 PCI slots instead of 2. http://secure.newegg.com/Shopping/ [...] mbo.134248
On second thought, playing Crysis on a 24" monitor is a challenge for any single video card. Are you sure you don't want the option to add a second card later? For that sort of requirements you should get a (P5Q Pro + HD 4870 X2) or a (P5E Deluxe X48 + HD 4870 1GB + second card later), and a Corsair 750TX PSU.

Save yourself some money and get this good quality Acer 24", after promo code EMCBACEAB its $300. And also free shipping, which is always to have on monitors. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6824009154
Here is also a slightly cheaper $290 ($270 if you do MIRs) 4870 1gb with free shipping, and its an Asus which in my opinion a much better brand than sapphire.

I would consider the application of how that monitor is being used before taking on the suggestions made by others. The Samsung that was suggested only has 160 degree vertical angle, while the NEC you listed originally is 178 H/V, which is why you're paying over $100 more than the other options.
Keep in mind that even though 160 degrees seems like an awful lot, the picture quality can downgrade rapidly within just a few degrees, not extending all the way to 80 in either direction. Having the highest viewing angle available will generally ensure the widest range of optimal viewing space. If you are going to be viewing this monitor at widely different angles, which you may since you said you plan on watching blu-ray movies on it, then I would suggest you go to a retail outlet and compare the picture quality at different angles of monitors similar to those suggested here before making your ultimate decision.
If you plan on always staring at the monitor directly in front if it, then chances are you can go with the cheapies, save a load, and they'll look nearly as good or in some cases better since some of the the samsung/LG's on newegg are brighter and have better contrast ratios.
In any case, looking at the monitors in a retail outlet is always a good idea before investing $400-500 on a computer part that will likely be in use even with your next setup (unless you have a huge budget, in which case... where do you work? )
