my temp is at an ave of 20- 22C under idle and small appls and jumps to 38-45 under othos full load. is this correct. in the bios it says its at 40C everytime nomatter what. im going to reboot and turn cool and quit off and see if it changes. i just think the temp reading is wrong becuase im on the stock cooler.

i have a fan above my CPU heat sink pulling air out. then the case exaust fan in the top bakc. so two exaust then two fans on the side panel putting air in. the room is cold. mabey the reading is write. so is this temp normal or what.

I don't see anything particularly wrong with those temperatures.

Incidentally, Linux claims that my 5000+ is always at 40C, I believe it's a BIOS issue.

There is nothing wrong with those temps. Looks like you have room to overclock it a bit actually. I wouldn't worry about it as those are cool temps for a Brisbane. Now if you were getting over 60 C or something at stock speeds it might be cause for concern.

i just realized that the core temp tells me the temp of each core witch is around 20 give or take 2. so the two added is an ave of 40 on idle. but i think thats wrong becasue on full load they are both at 38-47 so thats two high if they are added togerther. by bios is set to shutdown when its at 75C. so mabey im wrong. the newegg.com revies say they idle at 40C on stock cooler and thats what im useing. im confused.

i know those are temps only in dreams especially since im useing the stock cooler. my temps are 20 degreese C lowe rthan reviewers who use the same setup i have. and im OCed at 2.8 but i did not increase any voltage just the CPU frequency.. is there a different program that is known to work with AMD Athlon and ECS GF800A2 boards

Ok, anyone who is getting temps on their 5000+ to be 20-25C id like to see it, so far I have heard nothing good from this CPU and 20-25C is to good to be true.
I myself have the 5000+ I had idle temps of 35C-38C and run temps of 40C-44C when browsing the internet and running a few apps. Now, when I game haha it is a different story because my temps ran up to 50-60C. I just recently added two extra fans, one at the front of my case blowing air in, and one in the back blowing air out, I also have a PSU that has two fans, one that sucks air and blows it out through the second fan in the back and I also run speedfan and Cool n' Quiet technology and my result is 28C-29C idle and 30C-32C web browsing and running apps and have a core temp of 7C. I have not tried it gaming yet but will soon.
In my over all opinion, 20C-25C sounds good to me, I wouldnt complain if I had those temps.

Well, There you have it, My overheating issue with the 5000+ is done, Not bad. I just threw in Need For Speed Undercover which general used to read 50C-60C using speedfan, now, haha i just got a read for my all time low of 35C while also running an msn converstation while playing the game! Next step for me, im gonna get a AMD Phenom 9550....see you in the next post gentlemen!
