Hey guys,
I literally just signed up to Tom's Hardware a few minutes ago.
Hoping somebody can help me out here.
My D-Link DI-604 is trying to assign a laptop on the network a 192.168.2.15 address. Problem is, that IP is already in use by a desktop PC that uses that address statically. In the router log it shows that it leases the 2.15 address to the laptop but then almost immediately releases it because of the conflict.
I'm wondering why it continues to try and assign it this .15 address instead of choosing another, within the range of .4 to .250
There are definitely plenty of IP's left in that pool to choose from.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

You should not assign Static IP addresses that are in the DHCP IP address range. Either change the range or change the Static IP address.
