Hey guys, need some help trying to get the best bang for my buck upgrading my current gaming system to end up with 2 systems. Here's what i have currently:
CPU: E6300 (OCed to 2.8GHz)
Mobo: GigaByte 965P-S3
RAM: 4Gb (4x1Gb OCZ SOE PC6400)
Gfx: XFX 9600GT
HSF: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
HDD: WD 160Gb
So what i'd like to do, is upgrade the mobo/CPU (and possibly HDD) and use the current ones to upgrade an older system to make it an HTPC. From the older system i'll be re-using the case/PSU/DVD, as well as having 2 gigs of PC6400 RAM lying around to use . So basically i need suggestions for a new cpu/mobo for my gaming system, and a video card for the HTPC. My preference is for an Intel CPU, which i plan to OC. Also i was hoping to upgrade my 160Gb HDD and put it into my HTPC. i am on a budget so i'm trying to get the most for my money (ie as cheap as possible). Thanks in advance for any and all advice.
