Help!

I am trying to reinstall Win XP Pro.

Computer is Gateway Laptop cx2726.

In the BIOS the only information is the make and model of the HDD.

Using several Linux based programs (Hiren's) I have been able to re-partition and reformat the drive.

Therefore, I assume the drive is OK and is recognizable.

HOWEVER, when I try to install the XP OS, it says no HDD is found.

Short of shooting the machine, how do I proceed.

Thanks in advance

Ira

A quick look online about Laptop cx2726 shows that it uses SATA. SATA is newer than XP so it dosent auto magicly recoginize the drives. During the XP setup process you need to push F6 when is asks if you want to add drives for storage devices.
You will also need to find thoes drives and put them on a CD.
