I have just recently added 1 gb of ram to equal 3 and it was wroking fine for about a week and it still said that i have 3 but then wehn i just put in a new processor everything got messed up and now it only shows 2 gb of ram. CPUID shows that there 3 but now windows. What should I do? I have an ecs a780gm-a motherboard, windows xp professional
Does your MB support the new CPU? Check the "CPU support list" on the ECS web page for your MB. What are the part/model numbers for your RAM, CPU, etc?

Yes I checked all the system requirements and stuff and it will handle up too a 95 watt processor and all thats working. I am using Kingston DDR2 PC2-5300, 667 MHZ. I had a AMD Athlon X2 5200+ and now I wanted to upgrade to a quad core but all that was messed up so I got a X2 7750.
I'd run CPU-Z and screen capture the various tabs and post links to those shots here. Also post a screen capture of the Windows screen that shows something different from 3GB.
