"Since the ATSC tuners still add about $100 to the price of a set"
Notice how the industry claims of $300 additional have quickly dropped to
the reality level? RCA still seems to be the only company who has figured
out how to keep this down to $0, though.

Heck, when NY banned pilot lights on gas stoves the electric start feature
added little to the price. When the National Energy Act was later passed it
prohibited states from banning pilot lights. The consumer now pays about
$60.00 more per basic stove if you want electric start. Lesson: Make the
ATSC/Cable tuner standard and it will cost next to nothing.
