Hi everyone, it's my first time posting here but I've been checking out these forums for awhile now. I've built around 10 lower end systems before for other people and friends always under $1500 so I do know what I'm doing when in comes to building. After working all summer I decided to make my own high end gaming system. I had started looking for parts and doing research around mid September but was kinda forced into buying all of my parts last week because of the economy situation. Being up here in Canada the parts I was looking at had gone up over $350 in 2 weeks but luckily for me I was able to get at an earlier price. All of this is leading to me wondering if the list of parts I had when I bought was decent for my gaming setup. I was looking at alternatives but didn't have enough time to make a fully informed choice. Let me know if I did ok or if I made a horrible mistake somewhere :) Thanks in advance.

I want your q9550.

I dont agree with the 7801/gtx 280. The Intel chipsets kinda suck, and the 280 is almost being outperformed by the cheaper 4870 1GB card.

I would have gone with an ASUS rampage formula and 2 4870's or 1 4870x2.

And i really dont see a huge performance jump with the 10k(or 15k) rpm raptor.

But, its still a great pc and a great buy. You better enjoy it, and overclock it.

pics?
