Hi,

I am getting ready to make the final purchase of my 1st home built computer. However I have over looked 1 possibly major thing.

I ordered the mobo already and when I went to order the CPU I realized that the FSB speed on the two were different.

-MOBO- MSI P43 Neo3-F LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard
-CPU- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor

CPU FSB=1066
MOBO FSB=1333/1600(O.C)

Do the FSB speeds need to match up perfectly or can the CPU's be lower

Thank you in advance I appreciate any help

Even better is if you are going to overclock your Q6600. Bumping your FSB to 1333 (which is supported) gives you 3.0GHz from your CPU. Most Q6600's will handle this without an increase to Vcore. If you are considering overclocking, get a better cooler.
