ASUS M4A79-T Deluxe - How do I manually adjust RAM timings?

Hey All -

I have the new AM3 board (it's great, I love it so far!), and now that it has been up and running for a week with no issues I want to start OC'ing things here and there. I would like to adjust my RAM timings, but I'm not quite sure how. The system is reading the timings as 9-9-9-24, however the RAM is listed as 7-7-7-20 capable. The system RAM voltage is at 1.6, but the RAM packaging lists 1.7-1.8 Will a simple voltage change lead to a change in the timings? If not, can anyone out there give me some tips? Thanks for the help.

My System:
ASUS M4A79-T Deluxe AM3 MB
AMD Phenom II 720 X3 (stock cooler)
4GB Mushkin HP DDR3 1333 (PC3 1066)-Model #996652
XFX 9800 GT 512 DDR3 video card
320GB Seagate Barracuda (system)
500 GB Seagate Barracuda (storage)
Thermaltake 600 W PurePower
Antec 300 Case

You will need to manually adjust the RAM voltage to 1.8V (in your specific case) in the BIOS, save the changes and reboot. Then, in the BIOS you can manually adjust the RAM timings to the 7-7-7-20 factory overclock spec.

Thanks for the reply Mondoman. Any specific reason why the voltage should be 1.8? (and not 1.7 or 1.75)? Just curious. Thanks again for the tip.

According to you, the RAM packaging lists 1.7-1.8V. If it all worked at 1.7V or 1.75V, they'd list that and not expand the range to 1.8V, which is worse.
If you want to spend time on it, you can certainly experiment with lower voltages. :)
