I haven't been able to find out much about the next generation of ATI and Nvidia video cards. I was under the impression that it was about a six month wait between generations so the HD 5XXX and GTX 3XX series should theoretically be out sometime this winter. The only recent news I could find on this was an xbitlans article saying they won't be out until summer 09. Does anyone know when the new generation will be out?

I thought I heard Spring 09 (April, May?) because TSMC was behind on the 40nm transition (which the next version uses). Not sure though.

I would buy a die shrunk higher clock version of the 280..., any news on something like that?

ya things have been slow recently... but the new series is slated for first half of 09 i believe...

i expect a huge performance increase over the current gen, and a huge price tag with it [i doubt amd will stay with that awesome pricing]
