Panel differences in new HP tablets

So as you may know HP released the new HP TouchSmart tx2z Multi-Touch Convertible Tablet recently which is pretty much the HP tx2500z in a new case.
the only major difference is that HP added multi touch to the finger input on the panel.
My question is do you think this is actually a new panel, or just new driver/firmware??

Like could a tx2500z be made dual touch capable with some software tweaks? or did they actually change hardware

I'd be interested to know this too..

I'd bet they both use waccom passive sensors for the finger input and it is all software but HP might write thier software so it will only work on the newer model. Maybe windows 7 will support it natively w/o the hp software pack
