Hello,
I'm trying to run a children's program on a CD-ROM. The program gives an error message: "This program requires at least 3MB of free virtual memory to run". My machine has 1524 MB of virtual memory and can be adjusted to 3048 MB of virtual memory. I've tried running the program in several compatibility modes, but no luck. What can I do to make the program run?

Is the virtual memory set to system managed or manual allocated ?
System Managed always works better.
If self contained CD, copy CD to HD and run from HD.
Sometimes lowsy developers expect to write cache on a closed CD.
Install program to PC if possible (preferred).

On Monday, April 18, I responded to your questions. Since I can find no record of this response, I suspect that I have done something wrong. Repeating these answers:

1. Virtual memory is system managed.
2. CD was copied to HD - same result, same error message (appears quicker).
3. Exploring the CD reveals a folder named "win3_11", exploration of this folder reveals a 16-bit execuitable file named "director16.exe". This file runs
OK without any error messages! This is unbelievable! Why does this work?
