Is there much difference? Its for my photoshop workstation. I am going duo-core, so cool your quad-jets lol. I see that the E8400 is 0.16 Ghz slower than the E8500 - but i spend more time on here than I waste processing an image with my current P4 2.4 Ghz no HT. The only way I can go is up !

I can get good price on E8400 locally - thats why I ask.

other: Its my first build Gigabyte P45-UD3R. mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500). corsair 750TX

grab the e8400 if it is between the two. there isn't enough difference to ever notice.

I only save $30 - but if I cant tell the diff in real life, its a good buy! frankly my hard drives are my bottle neck - and RAM ! I run XP Pro SP3 for now... I know about the RAM limit. I can work with that for now. it should be better than what i have!
