Hi, first of all...sorry my poor english. I´m from Spain.

I have a P5QC with 8gb mushkin ddr21000mhz, Q6600go and a 9800gt

I have the oportunity of change the MB for a Gigabyte EP45-UD3R.

What to you think?

I know that are very similar MB, but...

Asus suport ddr3 but my ram is ddr2...

What do you think that is better?

Thanks in advance

I have 8Gb(4x2) mushkin 1000mhz, and i can not make it work the ram to 1000mhz.....only 800hz in auto....
I think because are 4 stick of memory in a ddr2/ddr3 hybrid board....

I've tried everything.....but i dont know if i will can make it work fine in the Gigabyte...

And i like me the Gigabyte...and i thinks that the heatshinks of the board is better....

Though not as likely, you still could run into the same issues with the Gigabyte. The performance difference between 800 MHz at lower latencies and 1000 MHz at higher latencies is minimal. You need to run benchmarks to measure it (0-1.5%, depending on the application).

I have a EP45-UD3R myself, with 8 gig of 1066.. (4x2 gig modules). I run it at stock settings (800mhz) with no problems at all, and it is VERY quick (vista 64bit). cpu is a q9550, at stock settings.

I have read that in a lot of cases, boards with 4 modules in them do not overclock the ram well at all (chipset limitations).

The EP45-UD3R is a much better choice and your ram will be fine. This board is great for OC.
