Hello, i have bought a new hard disk and an adapter which converts SATA to IDE (because my computer only supports IDE). This is the hard disk i bought

So, i connected my hard disk to the computer, through the adapter and started my computer.
I saw the hard disk in the bios, but when i started the windows, the hard wasn't in the explorer.
So i tought i had to make partitions first.
I inserted my windows xp SP2 cd to make partitions, and the hard disk wasn't there.

Also, in the windows when i go to add hardwere, the hard disk is found there too, and it says that it should work without problems, but it's still unavailable for me to access it.

Please help me, i just bought it and can't use it.

You might have to mount it on Disk Management. Go to the Start Menu then click on Run. Type in "diskmgmt.msc" then press Enter.

I think, you have to initialize the new hard drive in Disk Management tool, and then create partition and format it.
