Alright, mainly I need to decide which would be the best build.
IM running a Q6600
EVGA 680SLI MB
4GB PC2-5300 DDR2 333 OCZ
OCZ 1000W PS SLI certified
2x9800GT SLI
RAID 0 2x160GB (OS)
RAID 0 2x150GB Raptors (games)
1x250GB (crap)
Ok, these are my options:
Single GTX280 FTW
Single 4870x2
2xGTX260 SLI Black Core Editions
Mainly play WoW, Farcry2,COD5 and so on.What would be my best shot? I will be upgrading the rest of the system soon. Maybe next march or so.
Thanks.
Those black core edition is that the XFX one? I will by buying it as soon as i sell my 2 8800gt's =P
If the GTX 260 is the 216 one then a single of of thoes almost beats a GTX280 just one of Nvidias blunders. Now with SLI you will be screaming! Crysis maxxx 2xAA with a solid 45-60FPS. Frycry2 will start to actually cry when it comes to the SLI raw power of two of those cards. Your PSU is more then adequate and the with the Q6600 you don't need to be worried about any bottlenecking.
I don't know much about the 4870x2...more of a Nvidia fanboy however i have heard that it is a damn good card.
well essentially you're paying more for 2x GTX260 so I would expect you get better frames but the 4870x2 can also easily out perform GTX280. Now it depends how far the GTX260s are OCed because at stock speeds the 4870x2 should outperform it.

Yeah, they completely forgot to benchmark their card before they started shipping. They were going to, but then someone at the office had a birthday party and they all got drunk and forgot... Now they have card that has better price/performance ratio than ATI... Poor nvidia, such mistakes they make.
