I assume you mean you have a desktop pc connected to laptop, not necessary if both on network with a switch or router and same workgroup.
However, what you want to do is go to computer physically connected to printer, go to Start-Settings-Printers and Faxes, right click the printer you use and go to sharing.
Share the printer and then install new printer in laptop as Network printer, it should find it, install driver disk if not copied drivers from desktop automatically.
