I'm looking for some advice on current Asus MB's. Its been a few years since i built my last PC and used to be knowledgeable but time has passed and I'm not current.

I'll be doing general computing (no gaming) but would like to add my own video and audio card. I'd like to be able to upgrade as time goes on so I'm not looking for a bare bones board. I'll be using a lot of memory and the fastest proc. for the buck i can find.

Recommendations are not limited to manufacturers, Just trying to determine the best way to go, and best value for the money.

Thanks in advance for any help

For top of the line, its hard to beat Asus or Gigabyte. Both of their X58 boards are very solid and will easily do anything you need to do. Really no need to add a sound card with either mobo. If you want to run a Core 2 Socket 775 a P45 Gigabyte is probably best in your situation.
