Hello, I have a problem with my 955 (C2). I can't get it up to 4,0 GHz, 3,9 goes just fine...

Settings for 3,9 GHz:

CPU Multiplier: 19,5
CPU FSB: 200 (stock)
CPU VID: 1,45
CPU speed: 3900 MHz
NB speed: 2600 MHz
NB VID: 1,2375
HyperTransport speed: 2600 MHz
HyperTransport voltage: 1,22
DDR speed: 1067 MHz
DDR voltage: 2,1
NB voltage: 1,24

Temprature is about 47-50. (Cooler Master Hyper 212+)

I have tried to increase the volt to 1,55 @ 4,0 GHz. And it still wont boot up. Is there something holding the CPU back?

Axtually, a 3.9ghz. OC is excellent for a c2 rev. If you want to try for more, Start by eliminating issues . drop your ram down to ddr800, set the HT to 2200, and drop your multi back down some; say, 18x . bump the volts UP to an even 1.5 vid, and your cpu nb volts up to 1.4v Now start cranking up the FSB only, something like 18x @225fsb or 18.5x@220fsb at those volts is your vest bet to break 4ghz. But watch those temps, and keep in mind, voltage increases should be done cautiously.

18x and 215 fsb worked, ran a 10min test.
18x with 218 fsb failed after 3 min with testing. I got bluescreen at 55 C

Should I drop the ratio even more? Increase voltages?

wHAT VOLTAGES WERE YOU RUNNING ON CPU VID, NB VID, HT volts&speed set, and/or ht multiplier used(10x on HT will give you 2000mhz, for example), ram volts & speed/ratio-also knowing ram timings would help as well. Those are all important numbers to know and adjustments that can be made.

I used the same voltages, and changed those you told me to change :p

I don't know what else to tell you. It IS an art, gotta play with-to fine tune. This article may help you out some more http://blogs.amd.com/play/2009/04/22/overclocking-101-with-the-amd-phenom-ii-x4-955-black-edition-processor/

Also be aware that not all 955s will be able to get to 4GHz. That's not to say stop trying, but don't be disappointed if u can't hit it stable.

It's best to set your HT link multiplier to 5x (or 1GHz), for the purpose of stability. Once you settle on a final CPU overclock then you can try raising the speed of the HT link till you loose stability. Raising the NB VID slightly (the memory controller on the CPU) will also help. Anyway you may simply not be able to break 4GHz. It just depends on your particular chip, and your patience for finding out.
