Write error

I have some usb devices like a pen drive and MP3 player. I am not able to copy any file or folder into these. I have tried formatting also but it does not work. however this problem is in my PC alone and not in my laptop where i can copy the files into the same devices. So the problem seems to be in my PC. Please Help

Suggest you check Control Panel, Hardware, Device Manager and see if USB sockets are present and working or are yellow flagged. Worth updating drivers for motherboard.

Thank u fihart but the USB sockets are working all rite.... in fact i'm able to delete files from the devices but not able to add anything into them. Also my printer is running from a USB port so I don't think USB ports are a problem. Any other suggestions?
