my first post!

can you guys recommend me the best LGA775 motherboards under $70 please. i want it to have a pci-e 2.0

i currently own an intel DG31PR, with a Palit 9800gt super+ 1gb. and i think my current mobo is bottlenecking my vga because it has and older version of pcie. 1.0 or 1.1? dunno... my vga is v2.0

my processor btw is an intel e4600, ram is 2x KVR800D2N6/2G

the gigabyte suits me fine, but i dont need those 4 slots of ram. oh, and i forgot to add that im planning on upgrading to an HD4850. wouldnt be a 4850 bottlenecking a pcie v1?

Benchmarks say no. However, there is some marginal performance gains as you move up generations of boards. I can't say for sure about G31, but I think it provided the same speed as P35. P35 was compared to P45 (and so P43) and no serious graphics performance increase was seen on single GPUs.

PCI-E 2.0 does provide more bandwidth, but hardware doesn't seem to make much use of it.

Huh? Lets put this into perspective......just so we understand your needs....."I want a dirt cheap value priced motherboard for under $70 that will allow my 4850 to perform as if it was on a much more expensive high performance type of motherboard"
Is that kinda what you are looking for?
