Hi

Here is my dilema:
Is it worth upgrading from a q9300 (running 3000 MHZ 1.231v) to a q9450 for 90 usd, or to a q9550 120 USD.
I use a hd 4850 with p45 board and 8 gb of ram. I am planning to keep my rig for 2 years from now.
I will upgrade my graphics card when dx11 comes out. (q4 2009 or q1 2010)
Will i be able to play all the latest games on high quality (lcd rezolution 1280x1024)

Please comment

Games aren't that much CPU bound so IMO the gaming gain will not be worth it. Just keep your $$$ for an i7 or the dx11 cards. You would probably get much more for your $$$ if you were to add a 2nd 4850, but I'm not if your 470W PSU will support it; a quick approx with a PSU calculator tells me you would need ~550W.

where r u gonna get the Q9450 and Q9550 for 90-120 USD, that does seem a very good price.

i believe that if u can get them for those prices then the Q9550 ould be the better option (then overclock to hell)

if those prices are wrong then keep the Q9300 and overclock more.

the only reason for my personal oppinion for the upgrade to the Q9550, is the greater amount of casheon chip and that the prices seem too good to be tru.

good luck
