I just finished my upgrade and I'm loving it! (Thanks to some great suggestions on here).

The only problem now is my heatsink and fan.

Here's what I did:

Case: [New] Antec 1200
PSU: [New] Antec CP-850
MB: [Old] MSI K9N Platinum
CPU: [New] AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+
SDD: [New] Intel 40GB
HDD: [New] Seagate Barracude 7200.12 500GB (x2; RAID0)
GPU: [New] Radeon 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5
RAM: [New] PC2 6400 (800 MHz) 2x2GB; 2x1GB (6GB total)

Everything is running awesome and CPU temp sticks around 40C.

The only problem that I have with it is that I'm still using the stock heatsink and fan from my old AMD AThlong 64 X2 4200+ that I replaced. I forgot to get new thermal grease, so I just took the heatsink and fan off the old processor and put it on the new one (with whatever grease was left on there (been used for 3+ years)). Also, the CPU fan is old and louder than the 6 case fans.....

As you can guess, I'm in the market for a new HSF. I'm been looking alot at the TT CL-P0464, but they seem to be out of stock in most places.

My main question: What HSF would you suggest that *doesn't* require me to completely take out my mobo to install it? (I'd REALLY like to avoid having to do this).

Alternatively, I'm also looking at just getting a new CPU fan (70MM) that is low dB (<21).

Suggestions??

Thanks!

PS. Primary usage includes office stuff, internet, some gaming. I would like to play around with overclocking, but I want to make sure I get proper cooling for the CPU before I start (never OC'd before).

Thanks for the info. After researching quite a few more options, I finally found one that I think will work rather well. I'm posting it here in case anybody else needs this answer in the future:

Rosewill RCX-Z80-AL 80mm Sleeve CPU Cooler - Retail

Compatible with my socket and it looks as though it can use the stock bracket to latch onto. Also, it's rated at only 22dBA! :)
