Recently I purchased an MSI Radeon HD 4670, and had to swap out an old video card. Once the 4670 was in, the card's HDMI output was automatically selected as the new sound device.

In device manager, under sound devices, it shows the HDMI device but no longer shows the on-board audio. Without the on-board audio, I can't get sound. How can i enable it? I'm running Vista 32 bit w/ SP1, and yes the on-board doesn't show up under the Sound tab of the Control panel, even if i show all disabled/all unconnected devices.

I'm sure someone else has had this problem before... :??:

Register or log in to remove.

In the control panel under sound........ go in and manually select your on board sound.......whatever make it is. Go into the add remove programs and remove any ati codecs. Reboot.
