Here is my latest build configuration - any suggestions, improvements, or compatibility issues? Thanks in advance!

Motherboard - ASUS P5Q Deluxe
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E8500
GPU - EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Superclocked 896MB
Memory - CORSAIR Dominator 4GB DDR2 1066
HDD - Western Digital Caviar SE16 640GB
PSU - CORSAIR CMPSU-620HX 620W
Optical - SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD+R 22X SATA

I was planning on keeping XP Pro as the OS - would I benefit from going with Vista?

^+1. As far as compatibility, quality, performance is concerned that list looks good.

Af far as OS goes, see XP first then decide if your apps/drivers** esp are available for Vista, then jump ship.

**Make sure yo have drivers for cameras, webcam, scanners,etc.

Might be worthwhile to wait, not necessarily only for going with the i7 but for potential price cuts due to the i7 release.

I would like to wait for the i7 to be released, but I am in a somewhat urgent need for a PC. My current computer has recently taken a turn for the worse, and I rather not invest time/money into fixing it. I'll have to see if I can wait it out...
