Ok, what the sam heck is a .pack or .package and how do I get the
files out of it? I downloaded some recolours for Sims2 and for the
life of me, can't figure this one out........ :)

You don't have to get the files out. Just bung that into your
documents\eagames\sims2\downloads folder.

also for your recolors to work in the game you need to install a support
file, just in case you already didn't know that :)

The package files just go straight into your Downloads folder, the Sims2pack
files are self-installing, double click on them.

It's only for some recolours - i.e. recolours of objects that didn't
originally have multiple colour choices in the original game.
