I just upgraded my CPU and bought a new cooler. Uninstalled the stock cooler took me about 45 minutes.
I have an old Socket 939 motherboard. It has no retention module. I did some research but I am still not sure what I need exactly. The old cooler had 4 push pins so didn't need it a retention module.
Without the retention module right now my cooler is sliding around and I don't think this is gonna work in the long run.
Okay so here is the situation right now:
Got the new cpu working perfectly. I just put the cooler on top, for now it seems to be working but I cant put my case vertically or it slides. and it just feels unsafe.
Do I need some kind of a adapter/converter to install retention module, do I just need a retention module, What do I need to get this working right?
or did I just bought something incompatible with my motherboard!!!
Here are the pictures:

Google is your friend. Try googling for a heatsink retention bracket for a 939 socket motherboard. Or, list your motherboard spec's and maybe we can help.
I have looked at these before, all of them have two holes side by side. I don't think it will fit my motherboard. (It has 4 holes like in the pic). I am guessing there just isn't any retention bracket for this.
