I read the Motherboard FAQ and I found a checklist in another thread that also didn't help. This is my first full PC build but I am pretty handy with repairing and troubleshooting. Moving on!

Ok so I just assembled everything last night. When I plug the essentials in and power it on I hear fans but no beep and the screen stays black.

My case fan is on. PSU LED and Fan are on. Graphics card fan is whirling away. Heatsink fan is on.

The biggest thing I think I may have messed up would be the LED/HDD pins the manual was not helpful at all there. My little wires had G and a ^ instead of + and -. But could that stop a system from starting?

Help is very appreciated, thanks!

You need to plug in VGA/DVI cord to the onboard Video on your motherboard. Then go in t BIOS and change graphics to PCIe.

Ok well I am trying to boot with just the onboard video and RAM installed. 1 stick. I am having the same problems. Fans come on but nothing comes up on the screen.

Ok, just to make sure, your LCD/CRT is plugged in to the onboard video correct?

Yes and to simplify things I actually removed the new graphics card until I get the system up and running.

Are you sure the LCD/CRT itself is working?

Work through the checklist:

What kind of PSU do you have?

4 pin and 24 pin both plugged in.

I mentioned in my origonal post that I had found a checklist and worked through it and that happens to be the one I found =)

PSU is a Rosewill 600w.

^Not the best of PSUs. But this doesn't look like a PSU problem.

I've got the same problem on a new build for my friend.
Power to fans only. Checked off all the things on the list i found here. I did notice that after i have it all setup that when i hit the switch on the PSU the fans spin for about 3 seconds. And the power switch will not turn off the computer when held for 10second or more.

Spec's
Motherboard: Foxconn 945P7AA -8KS2
PSU: Antec 500watt 20pin contector (having him buy a 24pin now incase)
Video: Sapphire X700 256M DDR PCI-E
Proc: Intel E5400 LGA 775 800FSB 2.70 GHz
Ram: Corsair 1G DDR2

This isnt my 1st build, but it is my 1st time working with a Foxconn.
Any advice would be helpfull, cause as of right now i think he might have a bad board.
