My computer won’t recognize any DVD drive

My system doesn’t recognize any more any DVD drive. I have 2 internals and 1 usb which don’t require drivers. If I change this one to another USB it’s the same. Nevertheless all other peripherals on usb work fine. I think it started when I installed Nero 9. I uninstalled Nero but to no avail. It’s really annoying
I am running on Windows 7 x64 and a core 2 duo cpu E6600 at 2.4 ghz with 2 gb Ram.
