XP-Vista Networking

i'm trying to network with a vista and xp box through a wireless router, i know it works because i've done it before; however i had to reformat the xp system and now cannot connect to it due to a wrong name error, since vista automatically discovers it how can it be the wrong name? and how do i fix this?

i checked the workgroup name when i was setting it up and they were both WORKGROUP. I went to windows update and installed all the updates available for my box and now it's working fine, i think i might have forgotten to restart after setting up.
