Hi folks,

I'm building a new rig. I think i've decided on all the parts (finally). I want to know if anyone can spot any problems with it such as PSU not enough or anything? I've already got a decent Thermaltake case with plenty of cooling and HD's.

Powercolour 4870X2
Intel i7 920 2.66Ghz
Gigabyte GA-EX58-DS4 mobo
Corsair 3Gb DDR3 1333mhz
Corsair 750W TX
22in TFT

Many thanks.

Depending on the resolution of your 22" LCD, a 4870X2 might be overkill for everything but Crysis. Your board supports Crossfire so you could always get a 4870 now and add a 4870 later if you need more power.

For RAM, I would either go for 4GB (2x2GB and to hell with Tri-channel) or get full 6GB (3x2GB).

Other than that it looks like a promising system.

Nice rig. Will cost you double the going rate for today's quality rigs (9450 on a P45, 1 X ATI4850, 550VX PSU, etc.) I am sure you already know Vista 64 should be purchased for that rig. You might make sure your needs/applications justify it such a high end and extreme system. But if your rent is paid and you don't work for GM then go for it.

yeah I play Crysis alot so want best possible performance. However funds are now tight so can't really go for more RAM. Thnaks for all the responses though.

Sweet! but perhaps you might consider a little change such as an overclocked (or overclock it yourself) GTX260 216 instead of the
4870X2 and buy more memory or put the cash towards a 24" monitor?
ONLY AN OPINION:)
