GeForce Nvidia 8800 GT Graphics Card

Well when I power up the computer, all the LEDs turn on, but nothing appears on the monitor. All the cables are connected and I have tested the video card on other computers. Anyone have any ideas to a solution to the problem?

Is your 4/8pin 12v atx power plugged in as well as the 24 pin power?

If it is then your mobo might need a newer bios to work with the q9550.

Your mobo defaults the ram to 1.8. You may need to boot with one stick and set timings volts manually. You might even have to get a diferent brand with stock volts of 1.8 to get it to boot.

If you try all of the above it will work.

If you have c1 stepping q9550 you need bios 0108 or newer.

If you have e0 stepping you need bios 0407 or newer.

I bet if its not your 4/8 pin power, it is your bios version and you will need a older cpu that is supported on your current bios, to get it to work.

I have my 8 pin and 24 pin plugged in.... Also I have tried different RAMs with different volts..I even tried putting only one in

I have the 2.83 Ghz, do you think I need to update it...I just got it.

Reply to diab0lical

Well it has to be your bios then. Your board probably shipped with a older bios and you probably got the new stepping e0 q9550 so you need a different cpu to update your bios.

Borrow a compatible cpu or buy a e1200 for cheap.

If you have to buy a e1200, I'll buy it from you for $20, and you can keep the $10 paypal.

How do I find if I have C1 or E0 stepping?

Reply to diab0lical

-are you using the right dvi port on the back of the video card? It has two ports. Try the other one.
-Also, if you monitor has multiple inputs, use the button on the monitor to switch your input.
-make sure pcie power from power supply is internally connected to your video card

Are you sure the monitor works?

Does the case have a speaker?

The monitor works, I've tested it on multiple computers. Also I have tried both ports on the graphics card. I've already ordered the new processor.

You can find your stepping after your computer works, by using CPU-z.

Which processor did you buy?

Reply to roadrunner197069

I bought the E1200

Reply to diab0lical

Cool. Let me know if you want to sell it.

Reply to roadrunner197069

Alright man, I'll probably have it by Tuesday. I'll let you know if it works.

Reply to diab0lical

It will work. I promise.

Reply to roadrunner197069

Well the new CPU didn't fix the problem. I installed an LCD poster screen however. It says on the LCD poster that there is an int ROM hardware error.

defective board maybe, I would RMA it
