I would have went a smaller PSU to save money, like a 650 or 750w. Also i would have went 2 more gigs of ram, and a 4870.

PSU is overkill. For that system, 500W would have been enough, 650W for a nice cushion. The bigger one doesn't hurt anything, except perhaps your wallet.
What CPU?
2x2GB would have been nicer, even though you'd only see 3.2GB of it, but 2GB certainly isn't a *problem*.
Expensive per GB, but I just got that velociraptor, and it is nice.
Why two burners?

I would get 2X 500gb HD and put them in raid0 and another one for storage.

I'd get 2x2gb of ram, small psu as well, and scrap the second optical drive. Get the 64bit version of Vista and the 4870 instead of the 4850.

Just curious, where did you buy from?

China Town Toronto but i got connections XD but yeah i will get a 4870 later when he orders for me also , the the 64 bit vista doesn't run all games

and i have 2 burners cuz I likez to burn things? XD

the PSU was CHEAP *on sale* and i had to buy it 1000W for 120 bucks? come on lol

but yeah he didn't have 500gb HD T.T but that's all he had for now Boo T.T

but yeah i also got a Intel Quad Core 9550 , lastly a Antec P180

it was cheap guys...damn i wish i could have got another Video Card T.T

but what's the difference between the 4870 and the 4850???

Reply to 69ers

A lot the 4850 is like the 9800GTX while the 4870 competes with the GTX 260. the 70 is much better

as for PSU, watts isnt everything i mean that one is fine (the 850 version is actually better), but u can get cheap psus, they just arent good

Id get 4 gigs no matter what for Vista and 64 bit for all 4 gigs. All current games work on 64 bit....only old games dont

hmm? what's up? oh yeah btw how much is the 4870?

The 4870s runs about $70 more than the 4850s. I also recommend going with 4gigs of ram and going with 64 bit Vista...

I'm have had no issues with starcraft, baldur's gate, wheel of time, all the diablos, etc under 64bit windows. Only thing that didn't work without some serious persuation was marble drop >< Any 32bit game will run under 64bit Vista.

The ONLY thing i have had no success getting to work was the Dazzle Video Capture Card, as there's no drivers available for 64bit.

Extended list of old games i've used under Vista 64bit;
Half-Life
Final Fantasy 1-6 using emulators
Timeshock Pinball
Warcraft 3 + TFT (not really that old i guess)

I will admit, some game took some tweaking. But no more that say leaving color set to 256, 16bit etc. Or changing the desktop resolution to a much lower one like 800x600. Which you would probably have to do under 32bit anyway.

PS. WTB Signature support again.
