Maybe this is a noob question but...

Alright, so I finally got my parts for my first system build but I've already run into a problem.

I have an Antec 1200 case and an ASUS Rampage Formula mobo. After installing the CPU , my mobo manual tells me to plug in the chassis fan to a slot on my mobo if I have a multi core CPU, which I do. However, the fans all have a thick four pin connector (molex i think it's called?) and the mobo has a three-pin connection. Was my case or board supposed to come with some sort of converter and/or is it simply a matter of getting such a converter, if there is one? I can't see anything in either of the manuals that mentions anything. Maybe this is a stupid question and I'm missing something obvious, but like I said, this is my first build and I'm kind of learning as I go along. Thanks for any help.

Thanks.

But I'm still confused... If I plug the fans directly into the PSU, does that mean they won't adjust automatically to the temp. needs of the processor, board, etc. but instead will just run according to how I manually set them? If that a big dea? I thought the point of plugging a case fan into the motherboard was so that the mobo could automatically adjust fan power depending on its needs. I guess since the fans on the case are easily adjustable its not a big deal. I'd just like to understand better.

Just leave each fan set on low or medium, depending on your noise preference(they each have their own speed switch) and let it run. There are ample number of fans and air vents on the 1200, maintaining proper airflow is not much of a task.

Yup, set them on medium IMO. Not too noisy and plenty of cooling. Adjust them to your personal preference. They don't need to be connected to the mobo. In my experience mobos do a crappy job of adjusting the case fans and the CPU HSF as well.
