Hi There

I am thinking about buying a new gaming computer:

- Price mid low range - roughly 1000GBP (might be more)
- gaming purposes mainly

Idea is to be expandable in future - probably Another 4870x2.

Here is what i have got generally on my mind:

>Antec Nine Hundred 900 - Gaming Case with 200mm Top Fan - No PSU
>Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.16GHz (1333FSB) - Retail
>DFI LANPARTY LT X38-T2R X38 Socket 775 8 Channel Audio ATX
>Powercolor ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 2048MB GDDR5 TV-Out/Dual
>Wd 640GB Hard Drive SATA300 7200rpm 32MB Cache Caviar Black - OEM
>Thermaltake ToughPower 750W Modular PSU 14cm ATX12V6x
>OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800Mhz/PC2-6400 Memory GOLD DUAL
>HANNS-G 22IN LCD WIDE HI221D 5MS 1680X1050 SPKR DVI HDCP
>Zalman CNPS 9700 LED Socket 754, 940, 775, 939 & AM2 CPU cooler

What Do You think about it? What would You hypothetically could change?
Small overbudgeting is not a massive problem.

Couple further queries:

<Is 1066 ram much better than 800 ?
>is my mobo good with chosen cpu and ram?
<is PSu enough for future xcross ?

Kindly Thanks in Advance for all Your response.

Regards

Unless you plan to crossfire you should get a P45 board and put the money elsewhere.

I'm not sure what specific model RAM that is. 800Mhz is fine, unless you plan to overclock beyond a 400Mhz front side bus. If so, then higher frequency RAM is in order. When buying 800Mhz RAM, the very first priority should be voltage (1.8V) followed by CAS (5).

I'm not a big fan of Thermaltake. They sell many different PSUs, and some of them are quite bad. I think the one you list is considered OK. Of course, it would not power a crossfire set up... so that leads me back to my first point.

If you want to run that quad crossfire in the future, you need to look at at least a high quality 850W... but the better choice would be the Corsair HX 1000W. Modular, good price, and a VERY good unit from a good reliable company.
